services

I offer three main evidence-based services: individual psychotherapy, case consultation, and health-related psychological assessments. Individual therapy is designed to support you in reaching personalized goals within a time-limited period. Together we will explore factors contributing to your current symptoms and a clear path to helping you improve your situation. Case consultation services are available to other therapists and may include support with a challenging clinical case or structured weekly consultation to learn a specific evidence-based intervention. I offer a variety of health-related psychological assessments for individuals needing psychological clearance for surgery or those seeking clarification about a potential dementia diagnosis.

Individual therapy

$200-$250/hour

Individual therapy services are tailored to meet the needs of each individual client and ideal for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and emotional burnout stemming from various life stressors, relationships, and life transitions. When clients find me they are typically suffering physical and emotional exhaustion, feeling emotionally distant, detached from others, lonely, and ultimately ready for change. Together, we can help you learn strategies to cultivate a loving, compassionate relationship with yourself and foster healthy relationships with others.

What can you expect from individual therapy?

  • Prior to your intake appointment, you’ll complete some initial paperwork and brief surveys about your current symptoms. Then, during our intake appointment, we’ll spend time reviewing your history, cultural values, any special preferences, and your desired therapy goals. This process will help us decide on a personalized treatment plan.

  • Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is key to success in therapy. In other words, our ability to work well together and develop a trusting relationship will be hugely important. I find that having periodic opportunities to check-in is helpful to ensure we’re focusing on the right things and you’re making the progress you want.

  • Therapy is more than just coming to sessions once a week! As with anything, you have to do work between your appointments to get the results you want. Just like you wouldn’t go to your primary care doctor and make no changes in between your appointments, the same applies to therapy. I encourage my clients to engage in between session practices that can help move progress toward their goals more quickly.

CASE CONSULTATION

$250/hour

Case consultation services are available to other licensed mental health providers who may be looking for assistance with a difficult clinical case. This includes help with diagnostic clarity, treatment planning, case conceptualization, and intervention support. I provide a collaborative, confidential environment to improve clinical care and therapeutic outcomes

How can consultation help?

  • Every situation varies, but most clinicians that work with me reach out when they are feeling stuck with a particular clinical case. I specialize in geropsychology and will be most helpful to clinicians with limited training or background in working with older adults. I can help with clarifying normative versus non-normative age-related changes that can support diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.
  • If you are like most clinicians, many of your clients present with comorbid medical and mental health needs. In my experience, it is becoming more common to see clients who complain of an underlying medical issue, such as insomnia or chronic pain. Without properly addressing these foundational issues many clients won’t show decreases in mood-related symptoms. However, very few clinicians outside of medical settings learn properly how to administer cognitive behavioral therapies for insomnia or chronic pain. My extensive knowledge in both clinical interventions can help you in bolstering your skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of both.

ASSESSMENT

$250/hour

Assessment services provide diagnostic clarification and help individuals and/or their loved ones identify resources and appropriate treatment options. I provide specific geriatric and health-related assessments, including dementia evaluations, capacity evaluations, and pre-surgical psychological assessments for those pursuing bariatric surgery or spinal cord stimulators. The process of assessment generally includes a review of relevant records, use of a tailored assessment battery, interpretation of assessment data, and preparation of an integrated report.

Why choose an assessment?

  • Assessments can help provide diagnostic clarification. They can help you understand what is going on and gain a better sense of how to treat it. This process can be helpful for individuals as well as their family members in highlighting strengths and areas that need more support. Following the assessment, we’ll meet to review the results and recommendations. You’ll have an opportunity to ask any questions.
  • If you’re preparing for surgery, such as spinal cord stimulator or bariatric surgery, your medical team is going to want to know you have psychological clearance. Pre-surgical evaluations help to clarify your understanding of your upcoming medical procedure, articulate the risks/benefits of the procedure, share your hopes and any concerns, and clarify your coping resources. These evaluations can offer invaluable insights into ways to optimize your psychological health and subsequently your surgical outcomes.
